The base attack command allows a fleet to destroy or conquer an enemy base. The base must belong to an NPC faction or a faction with which we are in a state of war.

Attack modes

Bombardment and destruction

Command the fleet to attack the base directly with all combat ships. It will solve a space combat in which the result will be the destruction of the base or the withdrawal of the attacking forces. The fleet must have fighters.

Bombardment and assault

The fleet makes a space attack against the base before the assault of the troops. The bombardment intensity is determined by a parameter.

Surface Intensity

The bombing will occur until the fleet has suffered some casualties or 15% of its ships are badly damaged. The bombing will also stop if the base has received more than 25% damage over its maximum structure.

Moderate intensity

The bombing will occur until the fleet has suffered 10% of casualties or 30% of its ships are badly damaged. The bombing will also stop if the base has received more than 50% damage over its maximum structure.

Surface Intensity

The bombing will occur until the fleet has suffered 25% of casualties or 50% of its ships are badly damaged. The bombing will also stop if the base has received more than 75% damage over its maximum structure.

Assault

The fleet remains out of range and launches the troops to the assault. If the attacking troops overcome the combat they will proceed to conquer the base if it is a regular fleet. If it is a corsair fleet, there will be a plundering.

Defensive fleets

Fleets located in the same subsector and capable of supporting the base will assist in defense in the event of space combat and will grant a defensive bonus to defending troops if there is no bombing. The fleets must be in intercept mode, defense, or repairing on the same basis. See Order Patrol.

Troops in assault mode or garrison

The interface allows us to select those troops that we want to participate in the assault and those that we want to be part of the garrison base if the capture has succeeded.

Corsair Fleets

A corsair fleet can not capture a base. Instead, we are offered the option of plundering. Nor can the corsair fleets bombard the bases for the purpose of destroying them, since their purpose is looting. During the looting of a base, the faction that owns the base has a small probability of discovering the true identity of the aggressor.

Conditions for the execution of the order

The fleet will cancel your orders if any of the following circumstances occur:

The base is not hostile
It is not allowed to attack bases whose factions are not in a state of war with us. We can attack with a corsair fleet or attack an NPC base.
The troops that were going to participate in the assault no longer are in the fleet
It is possible that during a previous order, one of the troops of the fleet has been destroyed. For example when performing a mission or attacking a base. The fleet will check each of the troops loaded and if they do not match the schedule of the order, the orders will be canceled. This is done to prevent an attack with fewer troops and to be stamped with enemy defenses.
Base objective is of a novice faction
Noob bases are protected during the first two weeks of play and can not be attacked.
