Asteroid mines are modules that can be installed as industrial buildings and that allow the spraying and processing of asteroids in order to extract planetary resources.
In general, asteroid mines do not have as much production capacity as planetary mines, however, asteroid mining has two main advantages:
- It allows access to a greater number of reservoirs dispersed by the system and without the need to build a planetary base.
- There are resources that can be found in asteroids that are scarce on the planets.
Asteroid mining has to be done through a mining order by a fleet located in the same subsector as the asteroid field.
