Assembly plants are factories where modules and other objects are produced as consumer goods from planetary resources. They can be installed only in bases. The plant uses the cargo hold to collect the resources it needs during manufacturing and to deposit the objects produced.
At the beginning of the game there is a basic assembly plant type, but as the technology advances, better plants become available. The plants have a production factor that is what determines the speed with which it manufactures. The higher this value, the higher the manufacturing speed.
Specialization
Assembly plants can specialize in the production of a single type of object. When the factory is inactive, it can initiate a specialization process that will adapt the factory to the production of that single object. Specialized plants have a very high production bonus.
It is possible to eliminate specialization and re-convert the factory to be able to produce any type of module at any time, however, the factory must be inactive.
