Habitats are huge structures the size of small towns where citizens live their lives independently. They have their own life support systems, ordinances, social clubs, etc ... in exchange for living in these cities, citizens pay taxes to the faction that controls the base.
Early habitats greatly improved the living conditions of classic life support systems. The Beehive habitat simulated streets flanked by buildings where the first settlers performed their daily lives.
